Kaziranga - a world heritage site, has a long history of flooding by the mighty Bramhaputra and there are often incidents of animal deaths which cause serious concern among animal lovers. But what is surprising is that despite these never-ending floods, the park has not only managed to survive but thrive! It is the resoluteness of the jungle and its flora fauna to bounce back every time with the fittest to survive the flood that makes its inhabitants unique and admirable.

It has been accorded Geographical Indication (GI) tag and the traditional way of weaving is on the decline and in its last leg. There are only 4-5 families left in Ilkal who practise it.
